About Us
Welcome! We are Kossuth Animal Rescue; a small group of caring individuals who have the best interest of animals in our hearts. Organized in 1997, Kossuth Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership, finding homes for lost, abused, and unwanted pets, promoting the humane treatment of animals through education, and advocating pet population control. Our ultimate goal is to raise enough money through memberships, donations, fundraisers, grants, and the adoptions of animals to eventually build a shelter in Kossuth County. Kossuth County is one of the largest counties in Iowa, yet there is no shelter.We are always looking for volunteers and take volunteers in whatever capacity they are willing to give. If you're just interested in baking for one of our bake sales or if you're interested in fostering, etc, we'll welcome whatever it is you'd like to do.We hold monthly meetings the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:30 pm at the Algona Public Library, hope to see you there.
